The Red, White and Blue Motorcycle Poker Run started in 2006 as a means of raising funds to offset the cost of sending our lodge officers to the Grand Lodge Convention to compete in the National Ritualistic Competion.
In that event, more than 70 bikes and riders participated, and it was hoped that this years event would top that number, but due to a scheduling conflict with another organization, the turnout was far less than expected.
The ride started at the Elks Lodge and the riders headed up the twists and turns of Geiger Grade for the first stop at the Union Brewery in Virginia City.
After negotiating the descent into Eagle Valley, the riders stopped at the Carson City Elks Lodge #2177 to draw their second card, and then headed south into the Carson Valley - destination: Minden/Douglas Lodge #2670 in Gardnerville, NV.
The fourth stop was the Genoa Bar, advertised as 'Nevada's Oldest Thirst Parlor - Since 1853!', and then the riders headed back to Reno for their final card, some liquid refreshments, and some fine food!
PER Roger Lund headed up the cooking efforts and presented an extensive buffet complete with beverages and deserts. The food was excellent and everyone in attendance got plenty to eat.
