The current building of the Reno Elks Lodge #597 was built in 1960. At exactly one minute before 1:00 on Feb. 5, 1961, It was dedicated to "Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity." At the time of its completion, it was "One of the finest buildings of its type in the west."
The building stands as a landmark of South Virginia Street and it is a testament to the persistence of the "Antlered Herd" of Reno. The building has ample room for meetings and social events. It is in excellent shape for its age and has recently undergone some significant renovations.
The facility includes an Olympic-sized Swimming Pool and a full-size, restaurant kitchen.
To reach the Reno Elks Lodge by car, take US 395 South to the S.Virginia/Kietzke exit.
Turn North onto South Virginia to Redfield Parkway, (Look for a Burger King), and turn left.
The first right is Kumle Lane and the Reno Elks Lodge. We look forward to your visit!!
The Lobby area is an ideal place for receptions and displays.
It is open and has large glass doors to the front of the building.
The Lobby is also an excellent area for light refreshments.
As the first impression a visitor gets of the Reno Elks Lodge,
It has comfortable furnishings, and is decorated with
portraits, trophies and other memorabelia
of Reno Lodge's prosperous present and
long and glorious past.

The Billiard room contains a "bar" size pool table,
A regulation "Snooker" table, drink tables and comfortable chairs.
The room contains a complete set of pool cues and accessories.
A Snooker game can usually be had in the afternoon.
The Room has easy access to the east end of the Lounge
And the the "Pappy Smith"card room.
Visitors beware of the local Snooker sharks!!
The pool tables are to Elks Members and families.
We ask that un-supervised children not enter the Billiard Room.

The "Pappy Smith" Card and Game room is dedicated
To the memory of Reno Elks member and benefactor
Raymond I., "Pappy", Smith.
Pappy is known nationally as the founder of
Harold's Club Casino.
Back when Reno WAS gambling in Nevada,
all roads lead to Reno and
Harold's Club Casino!
Pappy donated the land on which the Reno Lodge stands.
The Pappy Smith room is a member's only room which once
Hosted $10,000 buy-in poker games.
The walls are adorned with images
of the Reno of the past. With some careful inspection,
some very interesting characters can
be spotted in the photos.
The Pappy Smith Room connects to the Billiard Room.

The Reno Elks Lodge is fortunate to have a long,
Well stocked bar and a spaceous, open and accessable
lounge area. The bar has enough room for 40 full-size
bar stools. The lounge contains cocktail and bar tables.
A 36 in. TV and a big screen TV adorn the lounge.
Draft beer may be purchased at the bar, along with
several types of domestic and import beers in the bottle.
Wine, liquor and mixed drinks are also available. The room
has easy access to the Lobby, Billiard Room and Terrace Room.
A historical note: The bar at the Reno Elks was once the
longest bar in northern Nevada!!

The Terrace room is a large and open function room.
It has a high ceiling with a new lighting system.
With its ample space for seating, power for live music,
internal sound system with microphone jacks and Juke-box,
the room is ideal for dinners, dances and parties.
"First Sunday Breakfast" and Thursday night dinners are
Held in this room. The room can seat up to 130 people and
has seamless access to the Lounge,
Banquet Room and
Swimming Pool Area.
Easy access to the kitchen makes this room ideal
for sit-down dinners and buffets.
The room has an entry from the Lobby for easy entry and exit.
The Banquet Room is a large function room which can seat
up to 140 people. It is an ideal room for dinners and receptions.
The room also has been used for utility purposes such as food basket
distribution and rummage sales, and large meetings.
The room can be connected to the Lodge Room.
Together, the two rooms form one capable of seating
up to 300 people!
Easy kitchen access provides for sit-down or buffet-style dining.
The room may also be connected to the Terrace Room and has access to the Lobby.

The Reno Elks Lodge has a large Lodge Room.
The room has a built-in stage with expandable capability.
Dressing rooms and restroom facilities are next to the stage.
As a function room the Lodge Room can seat up to
130 people!!.
The Lodge room may be connected to the Banquet Room.
The Terrace room, Banquet Room and Lodge Room
may all be connected to form up to six different rooms!
The Reno Elks are fortunate to have a beautiful swimming pool.
Through efforts of the membership and the Reno Elks Home Company,
the pool has recently undergone a major renovation.
The Reno Elks Swimming Pool is one of the largest public pools in Reno.
Olympic lanes comprise the shallow end.
The Deep end is 12 ft. deep and has a low diving board.
Men's and Women's dressing rooms are available.
A large patio area connects the pool to the Terrace Room and kitchen.
A Snack Bar provides hot and cold refreshments.
Life guards are employed during the public swimming season.
