The Reno Elks Lodge #597 was built in 1960. At exactly one minute before 1:00 on Feb. 5, 1961, It was dedicated to "Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity." At the time of its completion, it was "One of the finest buildings of its type in the west."
The building stands as a landmark of South Virginia Street and it is a testament to the persistence of the "Antlered Herd" of Reno. The building has ample room for meetings and social events. It is in very good shape for its age, but the recently completed renovations to the building have significantly increased it's appearance and usability.
The facility includes an Olympic-sized Swimming Pool, a full-size, restaurant quality kitchen, and Men's and Women's Athletic rooms.
To reach the Reno Elks Lodge by car, From Interstate 80 east or West, take US 395 South to the S.Virginia/Kietzke exit.
Turn North (right) onto South Virginia to Redfield Parkway, (one block North of the traffic signal at Kietzke Lane) and turn left.
The Reno Elks Lodge will be on your right. We look forward to your visit!!
The newly renovated Lobby area is a large open space
that welcomes visitors to the lodge.
The large glass windows of the conference room face the plaza
and provide additional light to the high-ceilinged space.
Comfortable furniture is available, and allow visitors to take in
the flag display, trophy case, memorabilia and portraits of our
current lodge and state association officers.

The Reno Elks Lodge is equipped with a long,
well stocked bar and a spacious, open and accessible lounge area.
Three High Definition flat-panel televisions are mounted in the Member's bar and
two additional flat-panel TVs are mounted in the West Bar.
The two bars can be separated by a sliding partition, allowing
access to the Member's lounge while hosting outside functions
on the West Side of the lounge.
Draft beer may be purchased at the bar, along with a selection
of domestic and imported beers in the bottle.
Wine, liquor and mixed drinks are also available.
Two Game Rooms are accessible from the lounge, with darts, pool and shuffleboard
available to our members and their guests.
The lounge has easy access to the Lobby, and Terrace Room.
A historical note: The bar at the Reno Elks was once the
longest bar in northern Nevada!!

The Terrace room is a large, open multi-function room.
It has a high ceiling with a new indirect lighting system.
With its ample space for seating, power for live music,
internal sound system with microphone jacks and Jukebox,
the room is ideal for dinners, dances and parties.
"Sunday Breakfast" and Thursday night dinners are
Held in this room. The room can seat up to 130 people and
has seamless access to the west end of the Lounge,
the Banquet Room and
Swimming Pool Area.
Easy access to the kitchen makes this room ideal
for sit-down dinners and buffets.
The room has an entry from the Lobby for easy entry and exit.

The Banquet Room is a large function room which can seat
up to 140 people. It is an ideal room for dinners and receptions.
The room also has been used for utility purposes such as food basket
distribution and rummage sales, and large meetings.
The room can be connected to the Lodge Room.
Together, the two rooms form one capable of seating
up to 300 people!
Easy kitchen access provides for sit-down or buffet-style dining.
The room may also be connected to the Terrace Room and has access to the Lobby.

The Reno Elks Lodge has a large Lodge Room, with
a built-in stage with expandable capabilities.
Dressing rooms and restroom facilities are located next to the stage.
As a function room the Lodge Room can seat up to
130 people, and when the folding partition to the
Banquet Room is opened, the combined space seats up to 300!
The Lodge Room, Banquet Room and Terrace Room can each be used separately,
or combined in several different configurations to meet a variety of seating plans.
The Reno Elks are fortunate to have a beautiful swimming pool.
Through efforts of the membership and the Reno Elks Home Company,
the pool has undergone a major renovation.
The Reno Elks Swimming Pool is one of the largest public pools in Reno.
Olympic lanes comprise the shallow end.
The Deep end is 12 ft. deep.
Men's and Women's dressing rooms are available.
A large patio area connects the pool to the Terrace Room and kitchen.
A Snack Bar provides hot and cold refreshments.
Life guards are employed during the public swimming season.
The Reno Elks Pool is to Elks members and families!!
