Reno Elks Lodge #597
The Reno Elks Lodge #597 was built in 1960. At exactly one minute before 1:00 on Feb. 5, 1961 it was dedicated to "charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity." At the time of its completion, it was "one of the finest buildings of its type in the west".
The building stands as a landmark of South Virginia Street and it is a testament to the persistence of the "Antlered Herd" of Reno. The building has ample room for meetings and social events. It is in very good shape for its age.
The recently completed renovations to the building have significantly increased it's appearance and usability.
The facility includes an Olympic-sized Swimming Pool, a full size restaurant quality kitchen and Men's and Women's Athletic rooms.
