Scholarship Information

Do you know a high school senior looking for college scholarships? 2019 Most Valuable Student and Legacy Awards applications will be available soon!  Also, the Reno Elks Lodge #597 and the Nevada State Elks Association offer these opportunities.

Elks National Foundation MVS Applications, available to all high school seniors who are U.S. Citizens, are due by November 5, 2019, to the Lodge nearest the applicants home. For more details and to download an application visit http://www.elks.org/scholars/scholarships/mvs.cfm to find out more!


Elks National Foundation Legacy Awards applications, available only online, are
due by January 31, 2020, at 11:59 AM (noon) Central Time. If you are a child or grandchild of an active Elk member, visit www.elks.org/enf/scholars/legacy.cfm to find out more!

Nevada State Elks Association Vocational Grant.  This grant is available to any prospective student (male or female) resident within the jurisdiction of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks in the State of Nevada, who plans to pursue an eligible vocational/technical course, above and supplemental to high school or preparatory school level, may file an application. All applicants must be citizens of the United States of America on the date the application is filed.

Nevada State Elks Association, Past Exalted Rulers Nursing Scholarship.  This scholarship is to assist individuals attending a Nevada School of Nursing with a one-time award of $1,000 to be used toward tuition in a nursing field of study at a NEVADA Institution of Higher Education.  For more information and the application, visit http://www.nsea-elks.org/Nursing_Scholarship_Form.pdf .
All applications must be postmarked by February 15, 2020, to be considered.


Reno Elks Lodge Scholarships
The Reno Elks Lodge #597 awards three (3) $1,500 scholarships, along with awarding scholarships from the David J. Tacchino (DJT) fund. Please download the DJT application and deliver the completed application to the Reno Elks Lodge, 597 Kumle Lane, Reno, NV 89509, for the DJT and Reno Lodge Scholarships.

Application Due Date: No later than 5:00 pm on March 19, 2020.

On Thursday, May 9, 2019, Fourteen Local High School Students were awarded Elks Scholarships at a recognition dinner held at the Reno Elks Lodge. These scholarships  were made possible through the contributions of the Elks National Foundation, Nevada State Elks Association, Reno Elks Lodge #597 and the David J. Tacchino Endowment. Scolarships totaling $22,000 were given out to the following students:

Rebekka Holmes - Edward C. Reed HS - $1,500

Breanna Roukey - Spanish Springs HS - $1,000

Megan Pecson - Wooster HS - $4,000 (ENF Scholarship)

Cashlyn English - Wooster HS - $1,500

Erin Schwalbe - Wooster HS - $1,500

Morgan Crofoot - Galena HS - $1,000

Rey Keene-Gutierrez - Galena HS - $1,500

Riette Heinze - Truckee Meadows CCHS - $1,500

America Rios Saldana - Hug HS - $1,500

Taylor Crofoot - Galena HS - $1,000

Michelle Cao - Robert McQueen HS - $1,500
