State Elks

Nevada State Major Project

It has been a busy week for Reno Lodge's Ken DuBois, PER, Executive Director of the NSEA State Major Project and other leadership members as they delivered several checks to various programs which protect women and children from abuse. The grants was awarded from the Nevada State Elks Association to be distributed as needed in the Reno area.

A $1,000 check was was given to support the "Step 2" program; a recovery program for women with the
Mission Statement:
"Breaking the Cycle of Addiction in Families"

A $1,000 donation was awarded to Women and Children's Center of the Sierra (WACCS). Their goal is to help women escape poverty in order to provide a better life for themselves and their families.

The donation of $1,000 was given to support the "Center for Adaptive Riding" which enriches lives through the power of the horse. "Sully" the horse, attended the accepting of the donation.

Ken & the SMP Team awarded $1,000 to Safe Embrace which deals with Domestic Abuse & Sexual Violence. The money will go towards outdoor play equipment for the victim's children.

It was a rewarding and gratifying week for the Nevada State Major Project Committee and the recipients
